Kimble Lake Project: A Thoughtfully Reimagined Lakeside Cabin
Welcome to the Kimble Lake Project, a full gut remodel on the wooded shores of Kimble Lake in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. This cabin was completely reimagined to capture the essence of modern rustic design, where clean architectural lines blend seamlessly with the warmth and texture of natural materials.
From the moment you step inside, the transformation is unmistakable. The original cabin was thoughtfully redesigned to create open, connected spaces that invite both gathering and quiet retreat. Large windows frame views of the lake, filling the home with natural light and reinforcing a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. Every material, color, and finish was selected to reflect the calm beauty of the outdoors while maintaining a refined, modern sensibility.
At the heart of the home, the kitchen serves as a central hub for family and friends. Soft sage cabinetry, warm leather seating, and textural lighting create a space that feels both functional and inviting. The open plan flows easily into the dining and living areas, where natural wood tones and layered textures continue the modern rustic story.
Throughout the home, thoughtful details and custom craftsmanship define each space. Two built-in bunkrooms add both charm and function, one designed for the kids and another for guests, each with its own cozy atmosphere and sense of retreat. Of the two bathrooms, one features handcrafted tile and warm wood accents that bring in texture and depth, while the other is designed with ease and simplicity, offering a clean, practical layout for a quick weekend getaway.
The Kimble Lake Project is a true study in transformation, turning a dated lakeside cabin into a serene modern retreat that honors its natural setting while embracing a fresh, timeless aesthetic.
